July 15, 2021, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ Historic Smithville Park & Smith's Woods
With 32 species of toads, frogs, salamanders, and newts, NJ is a unique amphibian hotspot in the region. Come and learn about your croaking neighbors for a Summer Frog Walk Series with Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) and Burlington County Division of Parks. Dr. Carlos Martínez Rivera, PPA’s Director of Science Conservation, will lead walks into the nearby woods and wetlands. You will learn about the amphibians of the pinelands and why their presence is a sign of good habitat, how to identify frogs by their calls, and what PPA is doing to help save these charismatic organisms. This is a fully outdoor masked program in the summer evenings, so expect hot weather, muddy trails, and mosquitoes. Bring a flashlight with batteries, rubber boots or shoes you don't mind getting dirty and insect repellent. Register online.
