The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced the County will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony commemorating those who died as a result of the terror attacks from 19 years ago. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. outside the County Emergency Services Training Center in Westampton, where a piece of steel recovered from the fallen World Trade Center is displayed. The service will feature a bagpipe processional, invocation wreath laying and the reading of the names and biographies of seven victims who resided in the county or had strong ties here. Burlington County Freeholder Tom Pullion will lead the ceremony and Congressman Andy Kim, State Sen. Troy Singleton & Prosecutor Scott Coffina will deliver remarks. Burlington County Freeholder Dan O’Connell & Sheriff Anthony Basantis will also participate, along with representatives from various county police, fire and EMS agencies. Accredited media are invited to attend the service but are asked to wear appropriate masks.

Learn about raptor adaptations, behaviors, migration patterns and conservation efforts to bring endangered species back from the brink of extinction. Presented by Park Naturalist Jen Bulava. This program will be available online beginning August 18.

Learn about various species that call Burlington County Parks home! Every other Wednesday, Naturalist Kate will post a new video that highlights a local animal species to better understand their behaviors, natural history and significance in the environment. The two species highlighted this month will be painted turtles and red-winged blackbirds.

A series of nature walks led by Naturalist Jen Bulava on select Tuesdays and Fridays. This is a repeat of Tuesday September 9. This is one of the best times to visit Long Bridge Park to witness the beautiful spectacle of the wildflowers, wild rice ripening, and the migratory birds that are attracted to the variety of plants. Registration required online. Strict limited number of people enforced, and masks required.
