  1. Unnatural Art Exhibit

    Some things just don’t belong. This show will feature a collective of art that shows something unnatural or slightly off. Think of fabricated landscapes, experimental process, science fiction, or even something that just might be not considered “normal”. Slightly unsettling, imaginative works that make you question reality can be seen at this exhibit. Artist Reception: May 16th from 1-3pm.

  2. The Art of Johnny Buss

    Jonny Buss, a craftsman, artist and employee of Burlington County Parks, creates abstract compositions through the use of visual digital data corruption, photocopy wheat paste and acrylic stenciling techniques. The aesthetic of his artwork is a commentary about the relationship between data, technology and contemporary society. Abstract Sound installations will accompany the visual art through the duration of the exhibit.

  3. NOCTURNAL NATURE (Video)

    Learn about crepuscular and nocturnal animals with naturalist Kate Forte! What does crepuscular mean? What are some advantages of being crepuscular or nocturnal? Kate will go over the answers to these questions through a video, while focusing on three different animals: skunks, opossums, and bats. This program will be available online beginning June 18.

  4. DRAGONFLIES & DAMSELFLIES OF BURLINGTON COUNTY

    Discover the incredible hunters of the insect world: the dragonflies and damselflies. This online PowerPoint presentation will focus on recognizing adaptations, behaviors, life cycles, and ecological significance of these beneficial insects.     In honor of National Pollinator Week, check out this online presentation focusing on the incredible ways in which plants communicate with animals. Participants will find that taking a much closer look at flowers can open up an entire hidden world that is more complex and fascinating than one ever imagined.   7. WILDLIFE WATCH

    Observe and explore the diversity of the animal kingdom in our park system, scavenger hunt style! Naturalist Kate Forte will post a list of species (with pictures) commonly found at Boundary Creek. Download the list, head out to Boundary Creek, and see if you can find all the species!   8. OBSERVATIONAL SURVEY - Young Naturalist Program

  9. Fungi and Lichens: “Lich-en the Fungus Among Us” Live Webinar

    This presentation by Park Naturalist Jen Bulava is an overview of the important roles that lichens and fungi play in the environment (not for identifying individual species). The three main types of fungi will be discussed, with a focus on mycorrhizal associations with plants. Discover the many ways that people and animals use lichens. Gain a better appreciation of the beneficial and amazing relationships within the fungi kingdom. This lecture is provided as part of the “Pinelands Speakers Series” live webinars hosted by the NJ Pinelands Commission every Thursday from June 4-July 30. The series is free and open to anyone.
