Did you know that relatives of some of the earliest plants to appear on Earth thrive at Smithville? Enjoy this brand-new topic as we take the time to closely observe and learn about the plants that were present during the Carboniferous Period, 330 million years ago. Our walk around the park will take us past Equisetum and Lycopodium and other examples of ancient plants. Difficulty: easy-moderate; crushed stone or paved path with some steps. Miles: 1.8.
