    With 32 species of toads, frogs, salamanders, and newts, NJ is a unique amphibian hotspot in the region. Come learn about your croaking neighbors during the Summer Frog Walk Series with Dr. Carlos Martínez Rivera, Curator of Living Collections at the DaVinci Science Center. We will walk into the nearby woods and wetlands in our parks to look and listen for amphibian species. Wear rubber boots or shoes you don't mind getting muddy. Registration is required.

Join us in celebrating Family Health & Fitness Day at Smithville Parks. This day promotes the importance of Parks and recreation in keeping communities healthy and active. Family Health & Fitness Day is an opportunity for everyone to get outdoors and discover all the health benefits of local parks and the beautiful parks in Burlington County. We are building a healthy Burlington County by providing access to nature to relieve stress, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and improve mental well-being. Join us for many healthy fitness programs at Smithville Park.

  3. Hogwarts is Here: the Science of Harry Potter

    Get your wands ready! If you ever wished you could be a Hogwarts student, this is your chance. Participants will rotate between 4 stations: Herbology, Transfiguration, Creatures, and identifying wand woods for Mr. Ollivander. This program is a fantastic and fun way to learn about the real animals and plants in Smithville Park with a Harry Potter theme! For ages 8 and up. Costumes are welcome and encouraged but not required! Maximum of six people per party. Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge will have live animals, so pets are strictly forbidden. Registration is required. NO WALK-INS allowed.

  5. Introduction to Printmaking: Linoleum Block Prints

    Block printing is the oldest form of printmaking. It’s a great way to make bold, graphic illustrations that can be repeated. We will be working with linoleum which makes this process an affordable and approachable medium. We will talk about transferring images to your block, carving techniques, and mark making. Students will leave with a small edition of prints which can be used to make book covers or greeting cards, and the skills to work on their own at home. No previous experience required.   6. John Russo Jr.: Recycled Reimagined Exhibit

    This exhibit is fabricated from the creative mind of Brooklyn-based artist, John Russo. He is a retired window and store display artist and has been making things using only recycled materials, including but not limited to everyday items and objects. These intricate artworks can range in height from a couple of inches to a few feet. Among the works he has created, you will see one-of-a-kind robot-like figures, garden art, clocks, and even steampunk-inspired pieces.

    June 22 – August 26. Reception: July 8, 5-7 pm Lights dim, and the audience erupts with a deafening roar as the band walks out of fog and darkness. The crowd thrusts forward, and the energy rises like a storm surge, bodies lift into the air and crash down in front of the stage. Poised in the center of all the madness is a photographer capturing the split-second world that lives within the flicker of light and shadow. This exhibit will allow you to glimpse through the lens of a select few that brave the chaos in the crowd.

    Laughter Yoga is a whole-body, well-being practice that benefits your body, mind, and spirit. You don’t need to be flexible or funny. It is a complete series of techniques that unlock the many healing benefits of laughter and promote physical wellness and overall well-being. We use intentional laughter, mindfulness, deep breathing, and playful activity to positively affect various aspects of our health: physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual. Laughter Yoga occurs on the beautiful mansion grounds in the rose garden at Smithville Park, located at 803 Smithville Rd., Eastampton. Starting at 7:15 - 8:15 PM. Please bring a water bottle, beach towel, or blanket. This event is FREE; registration is required.
