All small businesses must be registered in the county where they are conducting business. Most banks require a certified copy of a firm name registration to open a business bank account.
The owner can only register sole proprietors or partnerships. LLCs, DBAs, TBAs and corporations must register with the State of New Jersey. Please click here : http://www.nj.gov/njbusiness/registration/
Questions regarding these registrations should be addressed to the state at 609-292-9292.
You may register your business with the County Corner in person or the Burlington County Clerk’s Office either in person or by mail. When the parties in a business are from out-of-state, a power of attorney form must also be filed.
