In 2017, the Freeholder Board created the Addiction Task Force to address the drug abuse epidemic plaguing our communities. Last year, in New Jersey alone, three times the number of people that died in automobile accidents died from overdosing on opioids. This is simply unacceptable, and something we must continue to come together to address.
Earlier this year, the County in partnership with local groups, community advocates, leaders and all who are affected by alcohol and drug addiction, hosted an alcohol & drug addiction community forum. By sharing resources and ideas about programs and initiatives, we worked together to help those who are affected find treatment and support.
