Meet our Staff
Our staff of five is totally dedicated to meeting the needs of the veterans of Burlington County.
The office consists of our Director Walt Tafe, Veterans Service Officer Evelyn Rosado, Principal Clerk Mary Harris, Senior Clerk Typist Sonya Bulluck and Joe Mari - cemetary maintenance.
Walt Tafe, our Director is a 30 year Air Force retiree who served as McGuire Air Force Bases' Command
Chief Master Sergeant from 1999-2003. He is an Accredited Representative certified through the National
Association of County Veterans Service Officers. He assumed his present position in March 2007.
Evelyn Rosado came to us in October 2007 as an interviewer/bilingual and
program coordinator. She became a valuable asset to our Department and in 2009
gained her national certification with the National Association of County
Veterans Service Officers. She also completed the Advanced Course for service
officers. Both Walt and Evelyn are licensed to file claims, appeals, and can
represent your case to federal judges at the Board of Veterans Appeals.
Mary Harris is the principal clerk and oversees all office administration. She completes health care
requests, assists veterans in securing required documentation and assists in filling out financial
verification forms. She ensures claims are submitted in a timely manner and tracks claims through service
organizations and veterans administration. Additionally Mary compiles all statistical information and
submits all monthly and annual reports. Mary has been with our staff since December, 2002.
Sonya Bulluck is our Senior Clerk Typist and has been with since March 2006. In addition to her clerical
duties, she assist with the Active Duty Assistance Program, coordinates veteran's issues with the
Philadelphia Regional Office and Veterans Hospital. Sonya also proudly serves as a Master Sergeant
with the 514th Air Mobility Wing at McGuire Air Force Base.
Joe Mari joined our staff in 2010 as a part-time cemetery care worker. He provides and maintains grave
markers and flags for veteran's final resting places in over 96 cemeteries throughout Burlington County.
His efforts are coordinated with many county service organizations such as Veterans of
Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts. Our office is committed to ensuring all veteran's final resting
places are maintained with dignity and dedication they gave while serving our great nation.
