Help keep our environment clean and green! Participate in cleaning up litter that has made its way into this 55-acre peninsula that is full of ecological diversity. Individuals, groups, and organizations are welcome. Bags, gloves, and grabbers will be provided. Please bring your own water and snacks, if needed. Masks will be required in the registration and supplies area as well as in areas where social distancing cannot be maintained. Masks will not be provided, please bring your own. If you need community service hours, please register by 4PM on Friday, October 2nd.

As we wrap up the last month of the Burlington County Farmers Market, join us as we celebrate October and local fall produce. Apples are in, along with pumpkins and all varieties of squash, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, carrots, potatoes, lettuces and so much more. Artisan cheeses, fresh eggs, local honey, microgreens and mushrooms are always in season, along with local lamb, beef and pork. And don't forget about the garden! Fall is the best time to plant, so stop by for beautiful perennials. Enjoy seasonally inspired hot soups, coffee or tea and freshly made baked goods while enjoying live entertainment. Thank you for a fantastic season of supporting your local farmers and vendors. We look forward to our special holiday markets on November 21st and December 5th. Learn about raptor adaptations, behaviors, migration patterns and conservation efforts to bring endangered species back from the brink of extinction. Presented by Park Naturalist Jen Bulava. This program will be available online beginning August 18.

Learn about various species that call Burlington County Parks home! Every other Wednesday, Naturalist Kate will post a new video that highlights a local animal species to better understand their behaviors, natural history and significance in the environment. The two species highlighted this month will be painted turtles and red-winged blackbirds.

In this new PowerPoint presentation, learn about some of the invasive species of insects that have made their way to NJ, how to recognize them, how they got here, and what we can do to help diminish their spread. Spotted lanternfly, emerald ash borer, Japanese beetle, Hemlock wooly adelgid, gypsy moth, and brown marmorated stink bug will be highlighted. This video will be available beginning September 29 on our website. After viewing the video on your own time, join us live on Zoom for Questions and Answers sessions on September 30 at 2:30pm or October 8 at 7:30pm.

The most anticipated art show of the year welcomes a plethora of outstanding artists that are featured at the Annex Gallery throughout the fall. Typically, this exhibit is very competitive and draws thousands of visitors. This year, due to COVID-19 closures, the show will be displayed in the gallery and online.

Do you have a great idea for a scarecrow? Never created one, but want to try? Here's an opportunity for some free, family fun this fall!
Beginning October 13, Smithville Park will have all of the scarecrows on display. This is a great way to promote your business, civic group or organization, as our parks have never been more busy! Your scarecrow will be viewed by MANY visitors! The best part is that this year's entry is FREE! Each scarecrow will be hung at the park for visitors to see. Voting will be on Facebook! Monetary prizes to be announced! Registration: September 28-October 10. Installation must be completed by the end of day on October 11. Voting will begin on October 13. First place prize: $250, 2nd place: 150 and 3rd place: $75.

The movies are back! Goonies will be shown on the big drive-in screen at Smithville Park in Eastampton! Stay in your car and tune the dial to the movie audio or sit directly in front of your vehicle. Space IS LIMITED. Upon arrival, vehicles will be directed to a required parking spot. This is a first come, first served event. Gates will open at 5:30 When spots are full, this Facebook page will be updated to let everyone know we are at capacity and cars will be turned away. Social distancing will be enforced. Masks are to be worn whenever you leave your car, such as when walking to the restroom area. Bring in your own snacks, no vendors will be onsite. Movie starts at 6:30 PM (or dusk). FREE family fun!
