When Art Smith moved to Mount Holly from Phoenix two years ago, he was immediately attracted to the waters of the creek and to those of the mill race. His first paintings here were of the Rancocas and he has continued to explore this subject with sketches and acrylic paintings. At the same time, Art became interested in the work of Mount Holly painter, Hugh Campbell. Art was inspired by his artistic interpretations of New Jersey landscapes, buildings, but most specifically, the Rancocas. Several of his paintings of the creek have been a visual reference for Art’s paintings. These paintings of the Rancocas Creek are his visual response to the beauty of these waters.

Bill began making paper collages in his late teens. They are made from pictures and photographs found in various magazines, calendars and books. He arranges them to form another picture that flows into the next and never knows what the outcome will be. This simplistic approach has led him to make many complex pieces over the years and all are diverse. Bill enjoys piecing them together and the time and concentration involved. Gallery hours are Thursday - Saturday, 10 AM - 4 PM and Sunday, Noon - 4 PM
