Dinosaur fossils are usually associated with remote rugged badlands and deserts, but many of the earliest discoveries of dinosaur bones were made right here in New Jersey. This talk will review those historic discoveries and more recent research, to reveal what we know about the life of the Mesozoic Era in the Garden State, and what New Jersey’s fossil record can tell us about how these and other Mesozoic animals became extinct. The surprising conclusion is that anyone could find dinosaur remains in their backyard. Presenter: Dr. William Gallagher, Rider University, author of When Dinosaurs Roamed New Jersey. Preregister by calling RNC at 609-261-2495. There is no charge for this program, but donations are encouraged.
