Start early in the day to take advantage of the seasonal surge along the Delaware River migratory route. Everyone knows it’s a prime time to tally a record-breaking day list. It’s your call as to how long you stay. The group will break for lunch. Beginning birders are welcome. Meet in the Palmyra Cove Nature Center parking lot. Leader: Lloyd Shaw. Animal migration is one of Earth’s great stories. Birder Michelle Horowitz is the author of the blog “BirdNation” where she shares her insights on birds with an online audience on topics such as birding, bird behavior, and migration. Michelle’s presentation will focus on aspects of migration, especially some of the Olympic journeys made by different species. The afternoon will also include a weather-dependent walk to identify some of the migrating birds that visit Rancocas during this busy season. Preregister on the Burlington County Parks registration system. There is no charge for this program, but donations are encouraged. For 8-year-olds to adults.
