Freeholder Director Kate Gibbs announced today that the Burlington County Facebook Page is celebrating its five-year anniversary.
“Over the past five years, the County Facebook page has grown into an important tool in communicating with our residents. In this day and age, so many people are receiving news and information from social media right on their phones. We want to make sure Burlington County residents are aware of everything the Freeholder Board is doing on their behalf,” said Director Gibbs. “Our Facebook page has over 7,000 likes and followers and that number continues to increase weekly.”
The Burlington County Facebook Page was created on January 29, 2013 by Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly. The page offers updates and useful information regarding county services and events, and followers can ask questions and provide feedback regarding any topic.
Some of the recent information shared to county residents includes: animals available for adoption at the Burlington County Animal Shelter, special guest speakers at Rowan College at Burlington County, recycling updates and free shredding opportunities, dates of free flu clinics administered through the County Health Department, emergency notifications such as Code Blue alerts, and women’s self-defense classes offered by Sheriff Jean Stanfield.
“The Freeholder Board is pleased with the Burlington County Facebook page’s growth and interaction over the years. I encourage all Burlington County residents to follow us on Facebook at @BurlingtonCountyNJ,” concluded Gibbs.
