Ichabod Crane, Washington Irving, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Saturday, September 15, 2018

This first person presentation done by Neill Hartley of The American Historical Theatre brings an all new adaptation of this horror story written by Washington Irving. The interactive one-man interpretation of the story of the headless horseman draws the audience into the schoolmaster's world in sleepy Tarry Town. The program, followed by discussion about this 19th century author who also wrote Rip Van Winkle, ends with a dramatic reading of the story's postscript. Refreshments will be served. This program is funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities. Registration is requested.
