Timothy TylerThrow Back Thursday from County Clerk, Tim Tyler!

Did you know that Burlington County was in its 100th year when American Independence was declared in 1776? During the earlier century, the county had grown from tiny cluster of shelters along the Delaware to becoming the largest County in New Jersey stretching from the river to the Atlantic Ocean.

Adopted in March of 1676, "The Concessions and Agreements of the Proprietors of West Jersey" guaranteed freedom of speech and religion and the right to trial by jury long before the adoption of the Bill of Rights, and which specifically decried taxation without representation a full century before that issue ignited the American Revolution!

Burlington County offers a wide array of architecture from colonial times, the industrial revolution through modern day. Stroll through quaint downtowns and main streets, offering unique shopping too!
