Sept. 29th is National Women’s Health and Fitness Day. Get up, get out and get healthy!
Earlier this year, former Freeholder Director Leah Arter introduced the Health Starts Here campaign to encourage all Burlington County residents to live healthier, exercise more, manage stress better, and take advantage of health screenings offered by organizations across the county.
As part of Burlington County's Health Starts Here Initiative, fitness classes are open to county residents for free!
- Starting at 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday there is adult fitness classes at Tabernacle Church in Burlington City and adult kick boxing on Fridays at 6 a.m. at the JFK Center in Willingboro.

- There more than 1,000 acres of developed parkland, the residents of Burlington County can enjoy natural settings, recreational water access and regional trails! Aside from the county parks, the townships of Burlington County have over 180 parks; check them out on the interactive map below!
Healthy living also starts with healthy eating!
- Do you know where to get fresh, local and healthy food in your neighborhood? Do you have a farmer's market or community garden near home or work? Do you know what food places offer healthy choices?! Healthy eating means consuming the right quantities of foods from the main food groups, whole grains, fruit and vegetables, protein, and diary.
