Partnership with Best Friends Animal Society
Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders has approved an agreement with Best Friends Animal Society-No More Homeless Pets Network. This partnership is designed to further the Freeholders commitment to operating as a “no-kill” shelter and finding good permanent homes for pets in need.
“We are proud to partner with such a strong national effort,” said Director Garganio. “Best Friends has worked with rescue groups and members across the country to end the unnecessary killing of dogs and cats.’”
The No More Homeless Pets Network is comprised of 501(c)(3) public charity rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations and shelters actively saving lives and reducing shelter deaths locally. The free program offers fundraising and adoption events, educational opportunities, grants, and other services to local partners. In 2015 alone, they raised more than $1.4 million dollars for their Network partners around the country.
“The Burlington County Animal Shelter strives to ensure the best possible quality of life for all of our animals. We continue to work hard to promote respect for the life of animals and establish a “no kill” philosophy” continued Director Garganio. “It is with this commitment in mind that the Freeholder Board looks forward to being a strong addition to the No More Homeless Pets Network.”
