Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center

Established:

  • In 1984 legislation mandated the establishment of county based Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center (IDRC)
  • NJSA 39: 4 - 50

Purpose:

All drivers who are convicted of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) / Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or Refusal of the Breathalyzer are required to complete a twelve(12) hour IDRC program. All county IDRC Programs comply with Chapter 162 Intoxicated Driving Program Regulations.

The Burlington County IDRC provides a mandatory two day education program. The program provides individuals with a treatment resource guide, to include substance abuse treatment programs, counseling services, and self help groups available in the community.

In addition each client is screened by a Licensed Clinical Alcohol / Drug Counselor and, if warranted, referred on for a drug and alcohol assessment. The IDRC program is under the Intoxicated Drivers Program of New Jersey, Trenton, New Jersey and the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. All clients referred to treatment are monitored throughout the treatment process by the IDRC. This includes monitoring the treatment of Burlington County residents who have been convicted of a second DUI and mandated to attend a 48 hour regional IDRC program.

Cost:

IDRC Program cost = $264 (money orders only)
