Visiting Rules

Burlington County Juvenile Detention Center
Who may visit:

Only parents, grandparents, legal guardians, foster parents, with proper identification. All visitors must sign in and out in the Visitor Log Book. You must be 18 years of age. Your name must be on visitor's list in resident's folder. (TWO VISITORS PER VISIT)
When:

All major holidays - 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Visitors that arrive after 11:10 a.m. will be denied entrance.

Wednesday Evening 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 pm
Visitors that arrive after 6:40 p.m. will be denied entrance.

Saturday - visiting a resident 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Visitors that arrive after 11:10 a.m. will be denied entrance.

Sunday - visiting a resident 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Visitors that arrive after 11:10 a.m. will be denied entrance.

Thursday Evening: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm Blue Level Residents only.
Must be arranged through Social Service Department or Administration.
Visitors that arrive after 6:40 p.m. will be denied entrance.
ONE VISITOR EXCEPTION a child under 18 must be accompanied by their parent.
Length of visit:
1 hour
Parking:
In designated areas. All non-visitors should remain in vehicles.
What may be received:

The exchanges of items between resident and visitor is strictly prohibited. Due to storage space incoming goods are strictly limited. Soft cover books will be checked by center's personnel. No newspapers or national enquirer, etc.
Drug/medications:
Drugs or over the counter medications are not allowed without a prescription from a licensed New Jersey medical doctor.
Clothing:

No incoming clothing due to storage limitations. The Facility is only responsible for clothing taken at admission.
Smoking:

There is no smoking in the facility.

Resident and visitor should conduct themselves in an orderly manner. Either found to be unruly will be removed or asked to leave the visiting area. The passing of contraband will result in the suspension of visiting privileges.

A search of persons and personal property may be conducted.

Visiting during hours other than those indicated above must be arranged through the Social Worker or Administration.
