The Sheriff’s Office Senior Services Unit in cooperation with the Burlington County TRIAD instituted free Emergency 9-1-1 Cell Phone Program for seniors. Our department receives donations from the public of used cell phones that are no longer in use or under contract with a cellular company. We then send these donated phones to an outsource company who deletes all personnel information and tests each phone, and sends all working phones back to our department.
Receiving a Phone
Seniors who do not have a cell phone and wish to feel secure that they have a resource to call Emergency 9-1-1 while they are out, may apply for a free 9-1-1 cell phone by calling 609-265-3788. Seniors may pick up their 9-1-1 cell phone at the Sheriff’s Department located in the Burlington County Office Building within the Courts Complex by appointment at the following address.
